• On average, a mature tree will absorb roughly 20–25 kg of CO₂ per year.
• Over a tree’s lifetime — often many decades — this can add up: a single tree may sequester around 1 tonne (1000 kg) of CO₂ over 80–100 years, again depending on species and conditions.
• Some species may absorb more, especially in their early growth years; species choice and planting environment affect the CO₂ absorption rate.

Because of these variations, we don’t promise a fixed CO₂ number per tree gift — but your contribution is part of a larger effort. By planting many trees across different regions and projects, together we help restore forests, capture CO₂, and support biodiversity over decades.

We currently offer only digital certificates because producing and shipping physical versions would create unnecessary transport emissions and packaging waste—reducing the positive climate impact of your tree-planting gift. Keeping everything digital helps ensure your gift remains as sustainable as possible.

However, you’re always welcome to print the certificate at home or use a local print shop. We provide a high-resolution certificate file, so it prints beautifully if you choose to create a physical version. We’re also exploring eco-friendly, low-impact printing options for the future.

Once you receive it, you can share the gift in the way that suits you best: send it by email, share it through a mobile message, or print it at home or via a local print shop to give as a physical gift. Because each tree gift is personalized and customized with your recipient’s name, message, and certificate, we normally cannot offer refunds once the certificate is issued. Standard “change-your-mind” rules, such as the 14-day cooling-off period in the EU, do not apply to customized products.
